Almost skipped but then I realised its Plum Parrot, normally I do his on audible as he’s pretty reliable, but its a new series so will have a listen here before I put it on my buy for my limited budget list

seems like Parrot has taken on a real challenge, the line between full villain and proper hero is a very fine one to walk in story line creation, more often than not the story tips over into one or the other.

The protagonist is written like an idiot. Doesn’t match with his background.
Pretty much every conversation goes like this
Some character “i’l light a candle for your.”
MC “Candle?”
The book is better if you think of the MC as a dumb meathead.
