Something went wrong. Something went very wrong….
Against his will, Thaden was transported elsewhere in a big flash of light along with millions of other Humans from Earth, to a place where they would train to become Contenders in a whole new world. Unfortunately for him, something occurred during his transference into the “Training” program, and he was ejected from the whole training process and sent into the open mouth of an active volcano for bodily disposal.
Through a miraculous and horrifying series of events, Thaden managed to survive, only to find himself alone in the middle of a dungeon with no clothes, no weapons, and no way to defend himself. Worst of all, the strange new Assimilation System automatically assigned a Class to him without his knowledge, which ended up sticking him with a Support-based Class that has absolutely no offensive capabilities. As an Assistant Healer, none of his spells did any damage and he couldn’t even pick up a weapon to defend himself if he wanted to!
But all hope isn’t lost, as Thaden quickly learns something unique about himself that might just allow him to survive long enough to escape the dungeon. Sure, all his new magical spells might be focused on healing and protection, but what does it mean when he seemingly won’t ever run out of Mana…?
This story contains an overpowered MC with a normally non-combat Class, LitRPG progression mechanics and stats, and isekai/portal fantasy elements. Contains no sexual content or harems.

A great 1st book in a new series from Brooks. Nice world building and system along with a good eye for details in the book that stay steady and doesn’t change from chapter to chapter.
Narration is done wonderfully as well (I think this guy does 99% of all Brooks books published that I have heard). No complaints with the narration and, I enjoy the steady flow of the voice. Crisp, clean and most importantly…clear.
Hope to up more books over the weekend to come and, fill out requests as I can.

I’ll admit, I do have a weakness for Brooks writing. It’s well thought out, built nicely and, isn’t NSFW so no need to worry if you are listening to a book of his on break and, someone overhearing it.
Magical Fusion is a good one to start with but, I also think his Station Core series is good as well. If it’s your first go with him, Magical Fusion is a great starting point.

Good book but i dislike the narrator

The main character is quite unlikable and entitled in his inner monologue, but he ends up acting like a decent person, so it’s not that bad. It can get depressing though since the book doesn’t include any better characters to a meaningful extent either.

Not sure why the narrator stretches the last syllable of every sentences… Was a little annoying to me. Putting speed on 1.2 kinda solved this issue.
Alos maybe the author should specify that the MC has some previous knowledge of videogames and RPGs (sarcasm inside)

Thanks for sharing BD, always a pleasure.
As for the serie I’d give:
5/10 for narration
Not bad but too neutral an therefore a little soporific. Not that good with dialogues part as well.
2/10 for the story
There was definitely potential with that kind of scenario. Sadly half of the book is skill/cast selection and rewards messages, which on audiobooks are really a turn down, especially when the MC repeats some parts of the descriptions just after. And the other half is just not that interesting since the MC has the charisma of an oyster and is almost invincible…
I’ll give book 2 a chance, i’m a man of hopes, but don’t recommend this serie for now.
