I’ve listened to books with this narrator before and got through it but they did something to his voice here to make it feel like drowning in treacle. Yuck!

So, this is one of these books where the reader (listener) does not experience the story himself. Instead, it is like being told about it on the phone by someone else, who experienced the story, digested it, and now explains the rational behind it. I couldn’t even get past the first 40 minutes.
