Reviews are good so I was hopeful. Unfortunately this book is very generic, the main character never really struggles, the characters aren’t interesting, and overall just a disappointment.
If you’re just wanting to listen to a basic story of a guy beating monsters, this might scratch that itch.

I don’t think it’s very racist.
There is a ton of Asian characters in this book, MC goes through dungeon party’s like Santa through chimneys. MC himself is a katana wielding Korean, often pretending to be Chinese, while praising kendo and sushi and whatnot. Early in the book some Japanese character comes of as a real dimwit, but other than that I think the opposite is true and the author goes out of his way (to a fault) to include as many nationalities as he can, and MC states like a dozen times how nationality doesn’t matter (while I roll my eyes).
I’m assuming it’s a Korean author and I think current cultural tensions maybe shines through a bit, but I see it more as the author ignores politics as much as he can, and between the lines there is a “there are assholes in all countries” vibe.
Book is not great, not awful, MC is way too OP to make it interesting for my taste, But I’ll probably pick up the sequel if or when there is one.
