The apocalypse is coming, but only a lucky—or perhaps unlucky—few know.
Silas is inducted into the System, becoming the last in a long line of Earth’s “forerunners.” The rewards are great, but the danger is greater. We are not alone in the universe. The fate of five worlds hangs on how their forerunners perform.
Will Silas have what it takes to win Earth a place in the multiverse? Or will Earth become another mining world stripped of all resources and left a barren husk floating in the cosmos?
A system-enforced secret, a deadly challenge, and only a year to go. The countdown begins now!

Narrator: 10/10
Can’t complain about Travis, spectacular as always
Story: 2/10
Generic worldbuilding. Minus points for consistency. LVl 10 MC kills 13 lvl 100 monsters, he gains a level. Someone else kills a lvl 30 bug, they gain 25 levels. Stats don’t make sense. Pressure from lvl 10 boss with 60 willpower makes MC faint. Later in the story, other rando lvl 1s facing MC with 500 willpower tell him to F off with no problem. These stats are made up as an example to not ruin plot but example stands.
Characters: 1/10
The author tries too hard in a bad way. MC goes to a different world and keeps making Earth culture references that are just cringe when people around him act in confusion, not understanding his reference. This happens too often. He also never thinks about anything. Author writes that the MC thinks about things but his actions reflect 0 thought.
This book is bad, in a way that candy is bad for you. The plot is predictable, characters are mediocre, but you can still enjoy it. However, the prose is done well so you can listen through without thought because Travis carries the book.

Great book, I’m loving it so far.
I’ve listened to this book and the next few in the series and never found the situation that phavin is talking about so idk what they are on about.

I almost put that serie aside due to Phavin comment but after listening to this first book, I have no idea what he’s referring to. No such scene as he described happened.
In the end the Book was enjoyable.

I think I have it. Maybe Phavin is referring to Book 3, when newly integrated get 30 levels at once; but there are reason for it. Won’t say more as not to spoil

The rate at which the author cranks out generic Litrpg makes me wonder if it’s AI driven. Where he feeds the AI a few examples then makes a few changes.

Sounds and narration is 10 and 10.
Storytelling had me wincing. Especially the cringe college parts with him immediately being desired and wanted. The power fantasy was just too forced which is saying something for a litrpg.
The main character is judgemental of ‘toxic people’ but comes off as just as toxic due to how easily offended he is and how quick he is to judge others.
