This was actually pretty good
Some bits toward the end I felt were a bit meh but depending where the second book goes might not be a huge issue
It’s a thread easily enough to drop and focus on the rest that was really good

Everything works well and seed speed was great.
Va 8/10:
Fits the story, above average tone and annunciation.
Plot 5/10:
Kind of average. Not great and pretty mediocre storytelling. MCs backstory has really no relevance to the rest of the story. Everyone whines and complains in this book, it actually becomes a chore to listen to. I have read a lot of audiobooks, so I have fatigue for too much whining.
MC 3/10:
About 24 years old but acts like he is 12. Can’t start a sentence without “ummm” and can’t plan ahead to save his life. His siblings are brats, I can’t stand them. He is also boring and mopey, such an annoying MC thought process to have to listen to.
