Before he was Slifer, supreme elder of the Black Rose Sect, he was Zack, devourer of junk food. Then the pathetic pudgepot relocated into the body of a top-tier cultivator, which he used to gain power while trying to reform the various evil demonic sects of his new home into something a bit less, well, demonic.

It hasn’t been easy. Especially since the Great War between the demonic and righteous sects broke out for realsies. These days, Slifer has his hands full keeping his secret identity secret, collecting System cards, and holding the “good guys”—especially the fearsome, enigmatic Lady Chi—at bay.

But when he captures a high-ranking enemy warrior, Slifer discovers nothing’s as it seems. None of the righteous have even heard of Lady Chi. Just as none of them know she’s been manipulating them from the get-go so she can claim revenge against Slifer for killing her only love.

Now, Slifer must team up with his eternally hated foes (no simple task), uncover those still under Chi’s possession (even more difficult), and somehow not get blown into oblivion (yeah, good luck with that).
