Is this a joke novel…the mc is clearly a psychopath….and I mean medically certifiable.and not because of the situation I’m talking ed kemper type of disturbed. Not an anti hero but a true horror. If this is the authors idea of a protagonist then I am glad I don’t live near them.xould understand if this was a psychological thriller from the viewpoint of a serial killer but it’s not….it’s litrpg.

The unhinged MC makes this super intriguing. Gone are the days of the naive MCs who hesitate every single time. The MC is not a hero, per say, his mental condition is rather… questionable, but that what makes it interesting.
Also, there are other POVs from more “normal” people, looking at the MC and questioning his mental state, so the author definitely knows that the MC is “special”.
5 out of 5 stars, NO DRAMA!

tomted78, yes, he is. In the situation they’re in, this is his strength. That sometimes becomes a weakness.
Part of the fun for me was seeing how he deals with himself.
And he kinda becomes… mellower as the story unfolds.

@tomted78 I wouldn’t say he is a psychopath, as he still shows some emotion and even a little bit of empathy in a few situations, but he’s more like an unhinged narcissistic sociopath.

Yes the Main Character is indeed a sociopath/psychopath (can’t remember the difference); but it is why this serie is original and interesting.
Also trait will see changes throw the story.
Else, book 1 is a lot focused on skill and stats theory (which is not my cup of tea), but it is bearable and book 2 as more action so it’s worth the pain.
Narrator is doing a terrific job. His female voices aren’t really good, just passable, but the rest is top class

i wrote a long comment of why this is not good but i wasn’t logged in. But, the tldr of it is: It’s popo, mc spends more time in his head. He has imaginary conversations, you won’t even understand if he answers a question or talks to himself for 5 mins straight.

I was interested in this series, but seeing that comment about the unhinged MC just made me go get all 6 books currently out there.

Boy did I just the gun on this one, this story is awful lol.
Its just extremely poorly written, like as an example, the main character is supposed to be the cold and calculating type, but he constantly becomes incredibly stupid for no reason. The best example of this: in the opening few chapters the MC fights a wolf, and in doing so gets more battle-crazy than he normally should. Now, at this point in the story, he has discovered that he has two skills, Focus, and Mana Minipulation, but has no idea what they do. Does he suspect these mysterious skills as the cause of his frenzy? No, of course not, the MC instead thinks, despite not knowing what skills do, and having been transported to the new world basically a few minutes ago, that someone else who is a also survivor and stranded with him used an offensive skill, which they also shouldn’t know about, on him, which manipulates his mind specifically into wanting to be battle-hungry. Spoiler, he is later proven to be correct, even though this makes absolutely no sense.
And this is just one example, I won’t bring up my whole catalog of complaints I have with the logic in this story.
What really killed it for me though was the pacing, or how unbearably slow this story is. It takes until the start of chapter 8 for just a single person, out of like 20 people, to leave an open and empty field that they spawn in. I later fell asleep somewhere in chapter 16, and at that point I decided I had had enough.
